New Delhi: The National Medical Commission (NMC) and the Dental Council of India (DCI) have issued a public notice regarding an upcoming Post Budget Webinar on Medical Education, scheduled for today i.e. March 5, 2025. This webinar, themed "Invest in People," will feature discussions on various healthcare initiatives following the budget.

A key highlight of the webinar will be the session on "Expansion of Medical Education," which will be led by the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare from 2:40 PM to 4:00 PM. This session is particularly relevant in light of the Hon'ble Prime Minister's visionary goal, announced on August 15, 2024, to add 75,000 medical seats within the next five years to address the increasing demand for medical professionals across the country.

The webinar will commence with a panel discussion from 11:00 AM to 12:20 PM, featuring eminent sector experts and Secretaries from various Ministries and Departments. The event will also include a live telecast of the Prime Minister's address from 1:30 PM to 2:30 PM, which can be viewed at the link mentioned in the notice below. A closing session with presentations by Secretaries and addresses by Hon'ble Ministers will take place from 4:30 PM to 6:30 PM.

The NMC has asked for the participation of all officials and faculty members of Medical Colleges/Institutions under its administrative domain in the webinar session through the web-link mentioned in the notice attached below. This link is common for both panellists and attendees. Attendees can join without a password and will be in listening mode only. The webinar number for the "Expansion of Medical Education" session is also mentioned.

Furthermore, the NMC has stated that the participation of all faculty, staff, and students of all medical colleges is crucial for the success of this important discussion on healthcare initiatives. Accordingly, all Medical Colleges/Institutions under the NMC's administrative domain are instructed to ensure their officials, faculty, and students attend the webinar.

Following the completion of the event, all medical colleges/institutions are required to convey/confirm the number of faculty/officials/students who attended the webinar, along with necessary photos, to the concerned email ID.

Dr B Srinivas, Secretary, NMC, has addressed this notice to the Principals/Deans of all Medical Colleges/Institutions under the purview of the National Medical Commission. The notice has also been circulated to all Officers/Officials of NMC and the IT department for necessary arrangements.
