Nashik- Maharashtra University of Health Sciences (MUHS) has invited online applications for the MUHS Summer Internship Program (SIP). In this regard, MUHS has issued a notice detailing the “Rules for Conducting the Summer Internship Programme”.

As per the notice, the online admission process for the Summer Internship Program (SIP) is to be conducted at various SIP centres enrolled by MUHS during the summer vacations for the academic year 2024. This SIP is being conducted for students up to 3rd year who are currently admitted to undergraduate health-sciences courses in a college affiliated with MUHS, Nashik.

The link to submit the online application form is already available from 26th April 2024 and will remain valid till 07th May 2024 at 11:59 PM or the date prescribed, notified or updated by the University from time to time. Along with this, candidates are also required to pay the prescribed application form fee of Rs 500/- (non-refundable except for the clauses which are mentioned) online as decided by the University from time to time. However, candidates are advised to read the guidelines/instructions and referred University Notification before filling out the online application and then proceed to apply online.

It should be noted that the University reserves the right to amend, notify or update the above timetable.

FEES

In addition, candidates will also be given a weekly stipend of ₹ 2500/week (up to a maximum of four weeks) or as may be decided by the University from time to time. Also, upon completion of SIP 2024, each of the participants will be awarded a University Certificate and a badge by MUHS, the notice added.

Meanwhile, if any applicants who are financially unable to pay the processing fee or belong to a poverty Line (BPL) family, such candidates are required to submit a certificate in that regard and undertaking duly attested by the concerned Dean/Principal of the university. The Vice-Chancellor will have the right to exempt the processing fee in such case of the applicant.

Under the scheme, those students will not get allotment from the university, such students will get a 50% refund of the application fee deposited by them.

Furthermore, it has been decided that if the winners (Upto 3rd year) of MUHS Avishkar Research Festival for the academic year 2023 held in December 2023, apply under the said scheme and they got allotment for SIP, then their 100% of their application fees will be refunded in such event. Also, the selected ones will get an opportunity to interact with team BETIC, IIT Bombay, Mumbai.

Further, considering the feedback and responses of the previous year, MUHS has decided that, the allotment of the students will be done on a pro-rata basis, considering the number of applications received from each faculty so that sufficient representation to each faculty student can be done.

The period of this summer internship spent at the respective nominated SIP centres, (in case other than summer vacation) this period will be treated as a study period for the allotted students and will be treated at par with regular attendance. The Dean/Principal of the affiliated college may also adjust the said period for alternative posting of CBME, if applicable.

ELIGIBILITY

Generally, the eligibility criteria for SIP will be as per the requirement of the respective learning objective of SIP as decided by MUHS from time to time. Current candidates up to 3rd year who are currently admitted under Graduate Health Sciences courses (MBBS/BDS/BAMS BHMS/BUMS/BPTH/B.Sc. Nursing/Both/BNYS/BPMT/B.A.S.L.P/BPO/B.Sc.(HLS)) in a college affiliated to MUHS, Nashik.

LIST OF DOCUMENTS TO BE UPLOADED/FILLED IN WHILE SUBMITTING THE ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

1 Mark list (s) of qualifying examination HSC 12th Standard is mandatory (reflecting percentage of marks obtained out of total marks calculation) 12th /HSC Percentage OR Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) (Candidate shall have to fill the prospective percentage after conversion equivalent percentage of marks as per concerned examination body guidelines (as applicable) will be converted into 10 Marks.

2 It shall be mandatory for the Candidate to submit a statement of purpose for any one of the learning goals opted by the candidate while submitting the online application form. It will carry 03 Marks weight. Which shall be evaluated by the University and the candidate shall awarded a proportionate mark(s) (either 1, 2 or 3) based on the statement of purpose submitted by the candidate.

3 No Objection Certificate (NOC) from the college/institution where the applicant candidate is currently studying in the format prescribed by the University.

4 A copy of the undertaking will have to be printed in the format prescribed by the University and it is mandatory to fill in the information and upload it.

5 It is necessary to submit a certificate if the candidate belongs to the Below Poverty Line (BPL) family, such candidates are willing to get a relaxation of Rs. 500/- regarding the processing fee to the authority.

INSTRUCTIONS FOR FILLING ONLINE APPLICATION FORM

1 Applicants must have a valid email ID and correct mobile number.

2 Before filling out the online application form download the admission notification and University Notification and read it carefully.

3 Applicants must possess the required criteria and educational qualification as mentioned in the guidelines prescribed by the University Online Admission Process 24.

4 Fill out the online application form carefully. The candidate(s) must choose the concerned SIP Center and learning goals as per the suitability of his/her qualification. Accordingly, he/she will have to refer to the revised eligibility criteria and will be required to give online preferences or fill option A.Y. Summer Internship Program (SIP) will be conducted at 24 different SIP Centers nominated by MUHS.

5 Applicant needs to submit only one application form, and if the candidate submits more than one application then, the previous application will be rejected and the latest application will be treated as a valid application.

6 Please note that, if the candidate makes any mistake in filling the online application form, it cannot be corrected by this office. The office will not take any responsibility for such forms.

7 The system will not print the application form without entering the basic information, educational qualification, SIP preferences and online application fee.

GUIDELINES/INSTRUCTIONS

1 If any seats remain vacant, they will be filled in the second round as per the common merit list Upcoming rounds, if any; Also, the University may conduct Spot Admission Round/MOP UP Round as per the policy decision of the University.

2 It will be mandatory for the candidate to submit a statement of purpose for any one of the following Learning goals chosen by the candidate while submitting the online application form. It will carry 03 Indicates weightage which will be evaluated by the University and the award will be given to the candidate with Proportional marks (either: 1, 2 or 3) depending on the statement of purpose presented by the candidate.

3 12th/HSC Percentage or Cumulative Grade Point Average (CGPA) the candidate must fill Probable percentage after conversion Equal percentage of points as per respective Examining Body Guidelines. The marks will be converted to 10 (as applicable).

4 Merit list will be prepared based on marks or marks obtained by the candidate as per the marking criteria of 13 marks (marks obtained out of 03 marks + Statement of Purpose+ marks obtained out of 10 in 12th/HSC percentage ≤ 13 marks). Therefore, these seats will be allotted to the candidates as per inter-se-merit.

5 Wherever there is equality in the marks obtained by the applicant in both the above cases, the (total) marks obtained by the applicants in the 12th class examination will be considered and will be given preference in the merit list. Further, if a tie persists, the candidate with a higher age will be given priority in the merit list.

6 Scrutiny of applications and assessment of statement of purpose will be done by MUHS.

7 Merit list will be published and an allotment letter will be made available online.

8 The candidate has to report at the concerned SIP Center at his/her own expense and submit the joining letter through the concerned Nodal Officer nominated by MUHS at the concerned SIP Centre.

9 Accommodation and mess facilities will be subject to availability and payment of necessary charges equal to the fees paid by candidates staying in hostels.

10 If required, a temporary Institute ID will be issued online by MUHS to all trainees.

Further, MUHS has directed that all necessary communications will be made online only, no written communication will be made by the University to any SIP Center or interested candidate/applicant. Therefore, it is the duty of the candidate/concerned applicant and SIP Center to visit the university website regularly to get necessary updates.
