RGUHS announces Relaxation in number of maximum attempts for Ayurveda, Unani students admitted under 2016 Regulations

Bangalore: Through a recent notice, the Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences (RGUHS) has announced relaxation to the number of maximum attempts for the Ayurveda and Unani students admitted under 2016 Regulation.

The National Commission of Indian System of Medicine, in its communication as in reference, has relaxed maximum number of attempts for the students admitted under 2016 regulations. Reiterating the same, the RGUHS has issued a notification informing all the concerned students about the relaxation as follows:

'It was decided that students admitted under 2016 regulation, who could not pass examinations as per specified number of maximum attempts and duration, three more chances over and above mercy chances shall be allowed".

This is a one-time measure considered due to unforeseen Covid-19 Pandemic situation, the notification read.

As per above regulations students who have admitted under 2016 Regulations and exhausted the number of attempts including mercy attempts may apply for the examination, the university further stated.

The Government of Karnataka established Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences University Act, 1994 with the objective of establishing and setting up a University for the purpose of ensuring proper and systematic education, teaching, training and research in modern medicine and Indian Medicine in the State of Karnataka. The University was opened on June 1, 1996 and has been sponsored by the newly established Rajiv Gandhi University of Health Sciences University with about 210 colleges affiliated to other traditional universities in the state of Karnataka.

Improving the health of the medical and health sciences will improve the health of the society.
