NBE gives final opportunity for submitting joining report, self appraisal at OPJR for Diploma, Post MBBS DNB trainees 2025 registration

New Delhi: The National Board of Examinations in Medical Sciences (NBEMS) has granted a final extension for submission of joining reports and self-appraisal forms through the Online Portal for Joining and Registration (OPJR) for candidates admitted to NBEMS Diploma and Post MBBS DNB courses for the 2025 admission session.

The extension comes after NBEMS observed that several candidates and accredited hospitals failed to complete the mandatory registration formalities within the earlier deadline.

"In continuation of NBEMS notice dated 02.03.2026, whereby the OPJR portal was made functional for submission of Joining Report and Self-Appraisal for registration as NBEMS trainee to pursue NBEMS courses, it has been observed that Some candidates have not submitted their self-appraisal even after the extended deadline of 30.04.2026. Please be apprised that the candidates can only submit their self-appraisal once the joining status is updated by the hospital. Hence, both the candidates and hospitals are required to adhere to the timeline prescribed by the NBEMS," the notice read.

" Certain NBEMS Accredited hospitals have not updated the joining status of the candidates / verified the self-appraisal submitted by the candidate within the prescribed timeline i.e. 30.04.2026. It is necessary to update the joining status of the candidate even if the candidate has not yet joined the NBEMS Accredited hospital," the NBE stated.

Few hospitals have not uploaded the allotment data of candidates admitted through the counselling conducted by the state. In case, the seat has not been allotted to any candidates and is lying still vacant, the respective NBEMS accredited hospital is required to inform the same to NBEMS through email," the notice added

 To avoid hardship, a final opportunity has been provided by extending the timelines for registration window as under:

Process Extended Timelines of OPJR
Submission of self-appraisal forms by candidates to their training institutions 31.05.2026 (till 11:55PM)
Verification of the self-appraisal forms & documents of the candidates by NBEMS Accredited institutes through hospital login. 15.06.2026 (till 11:55PM)
Uploading the allotment data of in-service candidate on OPJR through hospital login. 20.05.2026 (till 11:55PM)

 No further extension of the online window shall be admissible. Candidates failing to complete the self-appraisal within the stipulated timeline will NOT be registered as NBEMS trainees.

It shall be the complete responsibility of the candidate for the accuracy and authenticity of the information provided in the self-appraisal form and the documents submitted. Any discrepancies or misrepresentations found in the information provided shall lead to the termination of the candidature to pursue the course without any prior notice or an opportunity being given by NBEMS.

The training institutions shall verify the self-appraisal submitted by the candidate before approving the same. The training institutions approving/ forwarding any false or fabricated records/information/documents for the purpose of seeking registration of the candidate as a trainee shall be liable for action as may be appropriate in terms and conditions of the accreditation agreement.

Candidates should also ensure that their self-appraisal is verified by their respective training institute within the prescribed timeline. 

The registration so granted on submission of self-appraisal form and its subsequent verification by the training institution shall be purely provisional and has been granted only for the specific purpose of undertaking the NBEMS course. The provisional registration shall be subject to verification of the information and documents furnished by the trainee at OPJR and mere grant of this registration will not create any rights/equity in favour of the trainee, whatsoever, to undertake the NBEMS course or appear in Final Exit Examination or award of NBEMS degree/diploma.
