NEET PG: NMC seat matrix 2026-27 lists 4,203 MD Paediatrics seats
New Delhi: In its recently released seat matrix, the National Medical Commission (NMC) has listed a total of 4,203 MD Paediatrics seats across medical colleges in India for the academic year 2026-27.
The data was revealed in the latest postgraduate medical seat matrix released by the NMC, which shows that Karnataka has the highest number of M.D. Paediatrics seats with 583 seats, followed by Maharashtra with 452 seats and Tamil Nadu with 420 seats.
Medical Dialogues earlier reported that the NMC released a seat matrix on September 29 showing a total of 63,177 MD, MS, Diploma, DM and MCh medical seats for the academic year 2026-27. However, the NMC clarified that the latest seat matrix does not include seats related to applications received for an increase in the intake of existing PG courses or for the commencement of new PG courses for the academic year 2026-27.
According to the latest seat matrix, Uttar Pradesh has 378 M.D. Paediatrics seats, while Telangana has 290 seats and Andhra Pradesh has 289 seats. Rajasthan has 251 seats, Gujarat has 226 seats, Madhya Pradesh has 203 seats, West Bengal has 179 seats, and Kerala has 150 seats.
Delhi has 140 M.D. Paediatrics seats; Bihar has 103 seats, Odisha with 96 seats, Jammu & Kashmir with 60 seats, Haryana with 58 seats, Puducherry with 59 seats, Punjab with 50 seats, Uttarakhand with 48 seats and Assam with 40 seats. Chhattisgarh has 34 seats, Himachal Pradesh has 32 seats, Jharkhand has18 seats, Chandigarh has 10 seats, Goa has 10 seats, Manipur has 7 seats, Tripura has 7 seats, Dadra and Nagar Haveli has 4 seats, while Arunachal Pradesh, Mizoram and Sikkim have 2 seats each.
Meanwhile, no M.D. Paediatrics seats have been added for Andaman and Nicobar Islands and Meghalaya in the latest seat matrix this year.
