DME Andhra Pradesh Invites Online Application For Admissions To GNM Course For 2022-23, details

Andhra Pradesh: Online applications are invited for admission into General Nursing and Midwifery (GNM) Course for the academic year 2022-2023, by the Director of Medical Education (DME Andhra Pradesh). The applications are invited for both government and private nursing schools.

Online application form filling dates –

1. Government Schools of Nursing – 3rd August 2022 – 6th September 2022 (up to 5:00 pm)

2. Private Schools Convener Quota - 3rd August 2022 – 6th September 2022 (up to 5:00 pm)

3. Private Schools Management Quota - 3rd August 2022 – 12th September 2022 (up to 5:00 pm)

The application form is available on the website https://dme.ap.nic.in. The candidates need to download and print the filled-in application form and submit the same with necessary enclosures as per the details noted in the application form on or before the last date.

The candidates belonging to the Srikakulam, Visakhapatnam, Vizianagaram, East Godavari Dist., West Godawari, Krishna Guntur, Prakasam, Ananthapur, Chittoor, Cuddapah, Kurnool and Nellore can send their applications to form to the School of Nursing attached to the hospitals. The detailed list of hospitals is enclosed in the notice below.

The candidates can pay the registration fee from 3rd August 2022 till 26th August 2022. They will have to pay Rs 500 as a registration fee through a Government challan through the website: https://cfms.ap.gov.in/ > Receipts Link > Citizen Challan Creation > crediting to the following Head of Account. Payment can be made through online/Manual methods (SBI).

The selection process for both government and private schools will be completed by 30th September 2022 by DM&HO.

The candidates/institutional authorities must take extra care while filling out the online admission application. The name of the candidate and Father's Name should be as per the SSC/10th class certificate. No corrections will be entertained later, and APNMC registrations will not be done for such candidates.

All the DM&HO in the state are held responsible for the delay in the online approval of the candidates. They will have to issue the approved hard copy only after the online selection of candidates in the portal. DM&HO logins will be closed after that on the specified dates.

Selection process -

Every superintendent will be provided with a User ID & Password for verification of online applications received by them. After the selection of the candidates, they have to indicate the selected candidates online. Only downloaded online filled-in applications along with registration fees and relevant enclosures should be accepted.

Selections will be made purely on merit, based on aggregate marks obtained by the Candidates in the group subjects, excluding languages. In deciding, merit candidates who qualify under the compartmental system will be placed after candidates who passed in a single attempt.

430 seats are available in the government general hospital for the school of nursing attached for the GNM course for the academic year 2022-2023.

Educational Qualification –

1. 10+2 with English and must have obtained a minimum of 40% at the qualifying examination and English individually from any recognized board. Candidates are also eligible from the State Open School, recognized by the State Government and the National Institute of Open School (NIOS), recognized by the Central Government. However, Science is preferable.

2. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in vocational ANM course from the school recognized by Indian Nursing Council.

3. 10+2 with English having 40% of marks in Vocational Stream-Health care Science from a recognized CBSE board/State/Centre.

4. Registered ANM with pass mark.

For foreign nationals – The entry qualification equivalency, i.e., 12th standard, will be obtained by the Association of Indian Universities, New Delhi. The institution, State Nursing Council, will be responsible for ensuring that the qualification and eligibility will be equivalent to what has been prescribed as above.

The minimum age for admission will be 17 years as on 31st December 2022. The upper age limit is 35 yrs. For ANM/ for LHV, there is no age bar.

The candidates will have to submit the following documents at the time of admission –

1. Submit the papers of nationality issued by the competent authority to the College authorities at the time of admission.

2. Submit equivalence certificate for 12th standard from the association of Indian Universities (AIU) New Delhi.

3. Proof of age.

4. Self Declaration needs to be submitted to the institutional management.

The SC/ST/BC candidates should furnish the prescribed Caste Certificate given in the attachment at Annexure - I signed by the competent authority, not below the rank of Mandal Revenue Officer.

DME has asked the Convener of the Selection Committee for GNM to make the admissions computerized to enable them to grant of scholarships and for their future reference.

The list of GNM institutes and the total intake have also been announced. A total of 293 institutes are there for GNM. The detailed list is enclosed in the notice below.
