PGIMER Invites Online Application For MSc, MSc MLT Courses July 2023 Session

Chandigarh: Postgraduate Institute of Medical Education and Research (PGIMER) invites online applications for MSc/MSc MLT courses for July 2023 Session.

Detailed schedule –

1. Application form closes - 17.05.2023

2. Correction window for MSc/MSc MLT - 20.05.2023 to 21.05.2023 till 11.55 P.M.

3. Computer-Based Entrance Test - 03.06.2023

4. Expected date of declaration of result - 13.06.2023

Application and examination fee -

1. SC/ST Category: Rs. 1200/- + Transaction Charges as applicable

2. General /OBC/Sponsored Category: Rs. 1500/- + Transaction Charges as applicable

3. Persons with Benchmark Disabilities (PwBD) Candidates are exempted from payment of a fee

All candidates must deposit the above fees through the online payment gateway available at MSc/MSC MLT application portal w.e.f. 27.04.2023 to 17.05.2023.

All candidates are advised to read the Prospectus and instructions carefully before starting online registration and ensure that no column is left blank. In the event of rejection of the application form, no correspondence/request for reconsideration will be entertained. Candidates are also advised to download and take a print of the application form. They should retain a copy of the application form till the completion of the admission process.

Candidates should fill in the Online Application with utmost care and follow the instructions and help manual as given on the index page. Candidate should fill in the Online Application form correctly. Incorrectly filled forms may lead to rejection. No candidate should register more than one application.

A candidate seeking admission to the Entrance Examination must submit their application in the prescribed format available online with the Prospectus on www.pgimer.edu.in.

After selecting the online registration, fill in the mandatory details asked for and deposit the prescribed fee through debit/credit card/Net Banking; after submitting fees, filled the required information step by step. Follow the instructions carefully.

All candidates are required to ensure that the Photo/Signature is uploaded according to the instructions provided in the Prospectus. Failure to do so may result in rejection of applications. Duplicate applications from any applicant will result in the cancellation of all such applications. No intimation regarding such summary rejections will be provided.

The following documents need to be attached to the registration slip –

The candidates must upload their self-attested/attested copies of certificates/documents in support of their educational qualifications, marks, date of birth, category, experience etc. SupposeSupposeSuppose the candidates fail to upload self-attested copies of the abovementioned documents. In that case, their candida. In that case,ture will be canceled, and they will not be allowed to participate in subsequent stages of the selection/admission process.

For Sponsored Candidates and Foreign nationals –

1. Sponsorship Certificate (in the case of the sponsored candidate) in the format prescribed in the Prospectus, duly completed and signed by the competent authority.

2. NOC from the Ministry of Health & Family Welfare in the case of Foreign Nationals.

Declaration of result –

The final results for MSc/MSC MLT courses will only be displayed on the PGI website at www.pgimer.edu.in. The result of individual candidates will not be informed by telephone, and candidates are requested not to make calls to the Academic Section for such information.

Seats –

Fifty-three tentative seats are available in each specialty for MSc/MSc MLT courses for the July 2023 session. MSc has 41 seats, and MSc MLT has 12 seats allotted.

Reservation of seats will be done based on the following categories –

1. Scheduled Caste (SC), Scheduled Tribe (ST) & Other Backward Classes (OBC)

2. Persons with Benchmark Disability (PWBD)

Method of resolving ties

If two or more candidates obtain equal percentage scores, then inter-se merit for selection shall be determined on the following basis –

1. A candidate who has made more attempts to pass the BSc examination would rank junior to the candidate who has made lesser attempts.

2. If the attempts made in passing BSc examinations are also the same, then the candidate who has obtained higher marks in the BSc examination shall rank senior to a candidate who has obtained lower marks.

3. If the attempts made in passing said examination and the marks obtained in the examination are also the same, then a candidate senior in age shall rank senior to a junior candidate.

The admission to the course is initially made on probation for three months. At the end of 3 months, if the candidate's performance is unsatisfactory, their admission may be canceled.

Merit list & minimum cut-off Percentage –

A combined merit list based on the Percentage obtained by all the candidates appearing in the entrance test (irrespective of their category) and applying the above method for resolving ties shall be prepared. The candidates with a minimum cut-off Percentage in the entrance test, as mentioned below against each category, will qualify for admission –

Master of Science courses –

1. Open (General) and Sponsored/Deputed: 50th Percentage

2. OBC, SC/ST & PwBD: 45th Percentage

MSc MLT courses –

1. Sponsored/Deputed: 50th Percentage

Admission –

2. Allocation of various disciplines of M.Sc/M.SC MLT courses will be based on personal counseling, strictly in order of merit in the Entrance Test.

3. The number of candidates to be considered for 1st counseling will be three times the total number of seats to be filled for each category of candidates, provided the candidates fulfill the cut-off Percentage mentioned in ‘Selection Procedure.’

4. The selection will be finalized only after the counseling of the candidates.

5. Any candidate who is absent at the time of counseling will not be considered for admission.

6. Under exceptional circumstances, if the candidates report report for counseling after their turn, they will be considered for admission only in the disciplines available.

7. All the candidates must bring the original certificates during counseling and joining.

8. After the counseling of eligible candidates of reserved categories in spot counseling, the seats remain unfilled after exhausting the merit list of qualified reserve category candidates will be converted into General/UR seats. These seats will be filled strictly based on Common Merit Rank, regardless of category.

9. Unfilled seats under sponsored category will not be converted to general seats. These seats will be carried forward to the next session.

10. No TA/DA shall be paid to the candidates for attending any counseling. No individual communication will be sent for a counseling session.

11. Selected candidates must join the course on the prescribed date as indicated in their admission letter. The selection of candidates who fail to join by the specified date shall automatically stand canceled.

12. Admission to all courses will be closed on 31st July 2023.

Agreement bonds /sureties/ contract –

The Master of Science (M.Sc) candidates must execute an undertaking (except sponsored category) on non-judicial stamp paper of a minimum of Rs. 5/- value. Any candidate who joins Master of Science (except M.Sc MLT) (sponsored/deputed) courses and leaves the course midway will be penalized in the following manner –

Two sureties, preferably from residents, must be submitted at admission on non-judicial stamp paper of Rs.25/-. Any candidate who fails to submit the same shall not be allowed to join the course. Sureties from Junior/Senior Residents are not acceptable. The office will provide formats for the same at the time of the Appointment/ Joining Letter.

Medical examination –

Medical fitness is a pre-condition for admission to the course of the Institute. Selected candidates (except sponsored candidates) will be medically examined by a Medical Board constituted by the Institute.

Fees and dues –

1. Registration Fee: Rs. 500/-

2. Tuition Fee: Rs. 350/- per annum

3. Laboratory Fee: Rs. 900/- per annum

4. Amalgamated Fund: Rs. 720/- per annum

5. Library Fee: Rs. 40/-

6. Security: Rs. 1000/- (refundable only after course completion.

7. Examination Fee: Rs. 400/- per annum

Fees and other charges, once paid, shall not be refunded in any case, including that of a candidate leaving the Institute before the completion of their term or not joining the Institute for any reason.

The dues must be paid by the prescribed date, i.e., by the 15th day of January for the January session and by the 15th of July for the July session every year. A fine @ Rs.5/- per day will be charged for up to 15 days for late payment. After 15 days, the name of the non-paying candidate shall be struck off from the rolls of the institute. For re-admission, if otherwise eligible, a sum of Rs.500/- will be charged as a re-registration fee in addition to the fine till the date of re-admission. Such a candidate will have to repeat their training period for which they remain off the rolls.

Security will be released only after receiving the “No Dues Certificate” upon completion of the course duration. No security will be released to those candidates who do not join or discontinue the course midway.

Duration of course –

The M.Sc/M.SC MLT courses have a duration of two academic years.
