Dehradun: Two persons have been booked by the police for being involved in alleged fraud of Rs 1.5 crore at a Dehradun-based private hospital.

This came after allegations of embezzlement of one and a half crore rupees against the former finance manager of Shrimant Indiresh Hospital came to light. The court has ordered to register a case against the former finance manager and his uncle. The accused had embezzled the advance money from the patients.

As per a media report in the Times of India, Sub-Inspector Aditya Saini has been given the responsibility of investigating the incident, he said that the fraud case came to light after an internal audit of the hospital's accounts was conducted.

Bhupendra Raturi, Public Relations Officer of Shrimant Indiresh Hospital, said that from the year 2012 to 2016, Saurabh Sharma was posted as the Finance Manager in the hospital. There was an investigation against him in the hospital and he was found guilty. After this a complaint was made to the police but no action was taken. After this the management took recourse to the court. The hospital told the court that Saurabh Sharma's maternal uncle Arvind Sharma used to run Sai Medicos. Saurabh Sharma took advance money from patients and took fake bills from Arvind Sharma and deposited them in the hospital. During this period he caused a loss of about Rs 1.45 crore to the hospital. He used to get the fake bills paid from the hospital. This was detected in the annual audit. On Monday, the Chief Judicial Magistrate's court has ordered to register a case against Saurabh Sharma and his uncle Arvind Sharma in the case.
