10 fake doctors arrested during raids on clinics in Telangana

Hyderabad: Telangana Police have arrested 10 unqualified practitioners during raids on clinics operating in Medchal-Malkajgiri and Sangareddy districts. The individuals were allegedly providing medical treatment without the required qualifications or valid credentials. 

The raids were conducted by the Quthbullapur Special Operations Team (SOT), RC Puram zonal teams and local police as part of action against individuals allegedly practising medicine without the necessary authorisation.

According to police, the accused were found operating clinics where medical consultations and treatment were being provided. Some of the establishments reportedly offered paediatric consultations and treatment, while others had beds for admitting patients, raising concerns about the nature and extent of medical services being provided without recognised qualifications. 

During the raids, officials seized 10 stethoscopes, nine blood pressure machines, 10 thermometers and other medical equipment from the premises. 

The raids have highlighted concerns over unauthorised medical practice, particularly where clinics are providing treatment to children or admitting patients. However, the allegations against the accused will be subject to due legal process and further investigation.

Police are continuing action based on the findings of the raids. 

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that in a major crackdown on illegal medical practice, the Local Crime Branch (LCB) nabbed a Class X pass man from the Akota area of Vadodara on Wednesday for allegedly practising as an allopathic doctor without a medical degree for 15 years. Police said they received information that a man was operating a clinic despite having no recognised medical qualification.
