Writing to the Chairperson of the MCC, the doctors have highlighted how the prolonged delay in issuing the refund is causing considerable distress among thousands of aspiring medical professionals.
"Nearly 10,000 candidates are still awaiting the refund of their NEET SS 2024 counselling fees—an issue that has lingered for over four months since the conclusion of the counselling process," Federation of All India Medical Association (FAIMA) pointed out in the letter.
"With the NEET SS 2025 exams looming next month, the prolonged delay is not only impacting the financial stability of these candidates but also casting a shadow of uncertainty over their future plans. We believe swift action is essential to uphold the integrity of the counselling process and restore faith among aspirants," it added, while urging the MCC Chairman to prioritize this matter and expedite the process of refunds at the earliest.
Speaking to Medical Dialogues, the National President of FAIMA, Dr. Akshay Dongardive, said, "FAIMA expresses serious concern over the prolonged delay in the refund of NEET SS 2024 counselling fees, which has affected nearly 10,000 medical aspirants across the country. It has been over four months since the counselling process concluded, yet thousands of young doctors—who are already under academic, emotional, and financial pressure—continue to wait for the return of their fees."
"It is directly impacting the financial stability and future plans of aspiring super-specialists. Such uncertainty harms the credibility of the counselling system and diminishes the trust students place in regulatory bodies. FAIMA firmly believes that swift, transparent, and accountable action from MCC is essential at this stage. We have formally appealed to the MCC Chairperson to immediately expedite the refund process and ensure that no further inconvenience is caused to candidates," he further added.
"FAIMA stands with all affected aspirants and will continue to raise this issue until the refunds are processed in a time-bound manner. We urge MCC to demonstrate its commitment to fairness by resolving this matter without any further delay," he further mentioned.
