AIIMS Bhopal anaesthesiologist dies after alleged suicide attempt with family
Vijayawada: An anaesthesiologist from the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS Bhopal), who was in critical condition following an alleged suicide attempt by injecting drugs that had already claimed the lives of his wife and daughter, passed away on Monday morning while undergoing treatment at a private hospital in Narasaraopet.
Medical Dialogues had reported the matter wherein the doctor allegedly attempted suicide along with his family in Andhra Pradesh, resulting in the death of his wife and minor daughter.
The doctor had checked into a lodge on Saturday evening along with his wife (30) and their three-year-old daughter. The incident came to light on Sunday morning when hotel staff found the family members lying unconscious in their room and immediately alerted the police.

Upon arrival, police discovered that the doctor’s wife and daughter had died, while the doctor was still alive. He was rushed to a nearby hospital, where his condition was critical.
However, he later succumbed to his condition. His body has been shifted to a government hospital for a postmortem.
As per a latest media report by TOI, the doctor was working as an anaesthesiologist at AIIMS Bhopal, while his wife was employed as a nurse at the same institution.
According to preliminary investigation findings, the reason behind the extreme step is that the couple were under extreme emotional distress due to their daughter's health condition.
Previously, the police found that the doctor allegedly administered intoxicating injections to his wife, daughter, and himself in an apparent suicide attempt. Following this, the three were found unconscious.
About 20 days ago, the wife returned to her parental home with the child, and the doctor arrived from Bhopal two days before the incident and took them to Narasaraopet, where they checked into the lodge.
The police said that the doctor sent WhatsApp messages and photos to his sister, indicating their intention to end their lives. However, they alerted the police and rushed to the lodge to stop them, but it was too late.
The doctor's wife and child were declared brought dead by doctors at the hospital.
Police have registered a case and are continuing the investigation.
