Along with attacking the doctors, the attendants also damaged hospital property, reportedly leaving resident doctors traumatised.
Several short videos of the incident went viral on social media. In one clip, an attendant can be seen trying to attack a doctor while others attempt to stop him. Another clip shows a broken hospital door with shattered glass and damaged bed handles.

The incident follows a recent assault case at the hospital, where a female doctor on duty in the casualty department of Deen Dayal Upadhyay Hospital was allegedly attacked by a patient’s attendant, said to be a foreign national under the influence of drugs.
Medical Dialogues had reported that the attendant allegedly pulled the doctor’s clothes, causing an injury to her forearm, and leaving a bruise where she had worn her watch. Shockingly, security guards and the duty police officer present at the spot did not intervene.
Reacting to the recent attack, several doctors’ associations strongly condemned the violence and demanded strict action against the culprits, along with better security and police deployment inside hospital premises.
In a post on ‘X’, FAIMA wrote, “Repeated assault within 10 days at DDU Hospital Casualty! Doctors and security personnel were attacked, hospital property vandalised, and resident doctors left traumatised. FAIMA strongly condemns this recurring violence and demands strict legal action.”
Dr Mohammad Momin Khan, National Executive of FAIMA and Vice President of AIMSA (J&K), also posted on ‘X’, saying, “Another incident of violence at DDU Hospital, Delhi — doctors and security staff assaulted, hospital property vandalised by patient attendants last night. Urging authorities to take strict action.”
Meanwhile, the Democratic Medical Association (DMA) condemned the incident, stating, “We demand immediate and strict action against the culprits. DMA stands in full solidarity with the doctors of DDU Hospital.”
