Assam doctor allegedly commits suicide at his residence, probe on

Guwahati: In an unfortunate incident, a doctor allegedly committed suicide in his residence in Tezpur, Assam on Monday morning.  

The deceased was working with Misamari Sub Health Centre in Kachari village before he decided to end his life. The reason behind his death is unknown. 

The doctor hailed from Sujangarh, Rajasthan and had been living with his parents in Tezpur.

His lifeless body was discovered during a morning check-in. Upon hearing of his death, the medical fraternity expressed its sorrow over the incident.

The Superintendent of Police (SP) of Sonitpur District, while speaking to G Plus stated, "The death of the doctor has been speculated to be a case of suicide, however, an investigation has been initiated to ascertain the legitimacy of the speculation and reveal the events that led to the incident."

A case of unnatural death has been registered at the police station and an investigation is underway.
