Hyderabad doctor ends life after injecting himself; wife booked for abetment
Suicide
Hyderabad: In a shocking incident, a 40-year-old doctor allegedly committed suicide after administering an unknown injection in his parked car beside the Outer Ring Road (ORR) at Rampally Dayara.
According to the police, before taking the extreme step, the doctor shared his live location with his wife. When he stopped responding to her calls and his location remained unchanged near the ORR, she alerted the police. Acting on the information, police reached the spot and found him dead inside the vehicle.
Preliminary investigation revealed that the doctor had reportedly administered the injection through an IV cannula inserted into his right hand. He was a general physician at a private hospital in the city.
Following his death, the police registered an abetment to suicide case against the doctor’s wife based on a complaint filed by the doctor’s family.

As per the latest media report by TNIE, the father, in his complaint, alleged that the doctor was under mental stress due to issues in his marriage. He claimed that the doctor's wife frequently quarrelled with him, stopped his interaction with family members, and controlled his finances.
He further alleged that she had not allowed him to stay with his parents since their marriage around 18 years ago. He further alleged that prolonged harassment by his daughter-in-law drove his son to suicide.
The father also stated that in January this year, the doctor had invited his parents to his home to resolve the ongoing issues. However, the discussion could not take place as his wife allegedly refused to engage and instead picked a quarrel. Since then, the parents had not visited him.
As per the TOI media report, the police found the doctor dead at around 3 pm.
Malkajgiri DCP Ch Sridhar said, "A cannula was still taped to his right hand. An empty syringe was also found in the car. Our team rushed him to a near-private hospital where he was declared dead on arrival."
An investigation is underway.
