Assam to put rural service doctors on COVID duty
Guwahati - As the COVID 19 tally continued to mount in Assam, the state government has recruited over 150 doctors under Rural Service Appointment, with the option of engaging them in COVID duty in lieu of rural posting.
State Health Minister Dr Himanta Biswa Sarma handed over Rural Service Appointment letters to 157 doctors at a function here today.

Speaking on the occasion, he said if the newly-recruited doctors are placed in COVID duty, even at an urban hospital, it will be considered as part of their rural posting period.
