Hyderabad: The Telangana Government Doctors Association (TGGDA) has raised serious concerns over delayed salaries and administrative failures in hospitals run under the Telangana Vaidya Vidhana Parishad (TVVP). The association indicated that the situation is affecting both patient care and the morale of the medical staff.

According to the association, doctors and other hospital staff working under TVVP have not been receiving their salaries on time for several months. Even on Thursday, salaries were not credited, which has added to their frustration.

The association also pointed out several other pending issues. These include pending distribution of health cards to doctors and staff, absence of regular DCHS officers posted in many districts, and delayed re-deployment of staff, which has led to non-functioning of 81 TVVP hospitals.

In addition, pending promotions for 2 years, which have resulted in the loss of panel years, and the non-implementation of DSH have caused ongoing administrative paralysis.

TGGDA stated that the problem is worse due to the lack of Regular District Coordinators of Hospital Services (DCHS) officers in many district hospitals. Without these officers, routine administrative tasts has slowed down.

"Regular District Coordinators of Hospital Services (DCHS) are yet to be appointed in districts. As a result, routine administrative tasks are piling up, leading to severe disruption of healthcare services and a sharp decline in staff morale," said the association, as reported by Telangana Today

The association pointed out that the main issue of this continuing crisis is the non-implementation of the Director of Secondary Health Services (DSHS) system. Due to prolonged inaction, TVVP’s administrative setup has become weak.

"There has been no action, no decision, and no progress. This prolonged inaction has severely weakened TVVP’s administrative machinery, adversely impacting both hospital functioning and doctor welfare," TVVP said.
