Delhi doctor arrested for allegedly molesting minor at Mohalla clinic

New Delhi: A Delhi doctor has been arrested for allegedly molesting a minor girl at a mohalla clinic in the Kanjhawala area of Rohini district in the national capital area, police said on Thursday.

The incident took place when the 12-year-old Dalit girl went to the clinic in Delhi's Shiv Vihar area in Karala on Wednesday evening to purchase medicines she was not feeling well.

On getting back home, she told her family what had happened. The next morning, her father, who works as a vendor, went to the mohalla clinic with her. Some other family members and neighbours also accompanied them.

They called the police, who reached the clinic and spoke to the girl. Based on her statement, a case was registered under various sections, including those of the Protection of Children from Sexual Offences Act (Pocso). The doctor was arrested that evening.

Deputy Commissioner of Police Pranav Tayal confirmed the incident and told India Today the girl has undergone a medical check-up.

A case has been registered and further investigation into the matter is underway, reports ANI.
