Dentist brutally thrashed by four armed men at his clinic in South Delhi
New Delhi: The Delhi police recently arrested a 29-year-old man, a native of Jharkhand after he along with his associates allegedly assaulted a dentist at his clinic in the South Delhi Aya Nagar area leaving him injured two weeks ago.
According to the police, the dentist was beaten brutally with a silver-coated steel bracelet - kada and stabbed multiple times by the accused and his associates. During the incident, the doctor fell and was found with severe bleeding from his head. Following the attack, the group fled from the clinic with the doctor's laptop and mobile phone.
As per the statement of the doctor to the police, the incident took place on July 6 when a group of four men barged into the doctor's clinic and suddenly started beating him following which the doctor fell and suffered some blood loss from his head.

In his statement, the dentist told police that he was at the clinic when two men posing as patients arrived and complained to him about some dental issues. The doctor told him that he would charge ₹1,000 for the treatment, following which the two left and returned later with the others. One of the accused entered the room for treatment while the other three stayed outside. After the treatment, the trio forcibly entered the room and attacked the doctor.
Later, the accused stated that he was attacked after a female friend went to his clinic for dental treatment where she felt inappropriate intent from the doctor following which she informed the accused who then called his friends and allegedly thrashed the doctor.
A police officer requesting anonymity told HT, "The accused and his friends attacked the dentist as a female friend allegedly told him that during her visit to the clinic, she felt inappropriate intent from the dentist. They decided to teach the dentist a lesson. We are verifying his statement and are also trying to nab the other absconding suspects. A metal bracelet that was used in the offence was recovered from Kumar, along with the broken parts of the stolen laptop."
Following the attack, the police received a PCR call from CBR Hospital in Aya Nagar and rushed to the spot where they found the doctor receiving treatment at the hospital. After explaining the incident to the police, the doctor filed a complaint and later a case of attempted murder was registered.
During the investigation, the police identified the accused in CCTV footage and accordingly launched a search operation for the accused.
"With the help of CCTV footage, one person riding a bike with a hidden number was identified by the complainant. Further, with the help of local sources and technical apparatus, the location of the accused was traced in Jharkhand. We sent a team to Bokaro, Jharkhand from where he was nabbed and brought back to Delhi," a police officer told TNIE.
A silver-coated steel kada used in the attack and broken parts of the stolen laptop were recovered by the police. An investigation into the case is underway.
