Dhanbad doctor booked over alleged forged documents for ultrasound clinic licence

Dhanbad: The Dhanbad Sadar Police have registered a case against a doctor for allegedly submitting documents bearing a forged signature of the Deputy Commissioner to obtain a licence for an ultrasonography clinic under the Pre-Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (PCPNDT) Act, an officer said.

Police Station Officer-in-Charge, Manoj Kumar, said that the FIR was lodged on behalf of the Dhanbad Civil Surgeon, Dr Alok Vishwakarma, by the Medical Officer-In-Charge (MOIC) Dhanbad, Dr Sunita Choudhary, on Wednesday.  

“A case of forgery has been lodged against the doctor. We are currently investigating the allegations,” said the police officer. 

According to reports, documents bearing the Deputy Commissioner's signature were submitted while filing Form B under the PC & PNDT Act for the ultrasound clinic.

According to the recent PTI report, Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner Aditya Ranjan had ordered the filing of an FIR against the accused in connection with the procurement of a license using the deputy commissioner’s forged signature. 

This directive was issued by the deputy commissioner during a review meeting of the PC & PNDT (Pre—Conception and Pre-Natal Diagnostic Techniques (Prohibition of Sex Selection) Act Advisory Committee at the Dhanbad district collectorate on Saturday. 

The doctor claimed that he had already lodged a complaint against a resident of Manoram Nagar, accusing him of providing forged documents. “I was misled and was given forged documents by another person. Police are yet to act on it. The authorities must conduct a fair investigation and take appropriate action in the matter'', reports TOI

During the proceedings, the Civil Surgeon was instructed to lodge an FIR against the accused for using documents bearing the forged signature of the then Dhanbad Deputy Commissioner to submit ‘Form B’ under the PC & PNDT regulations for the ultrasonography clinic, reports PTI.
