Doctor beaten up by mob of 12 for referring patient to higher centre
Madhepura: A doctor at a private hospital in the Lalpatti area in Supaul district was severely injured after being allegedly assaulted by over 12 attendants of a 15-year-old girl over a referral to another facility due to her critical health condition.
The assault took place when the doctor decided to refer the patient to a higher facility so that she could get better treatment. However, this angered the attendants who refused to listen to the doctor and allegedly assaulted him.
Following the incident, the doctor had not filed any complaint against the assailants and the police confirmed that an investigation would only launch after a formal complaint.
