ENT specialist Dr DD Reddy conferred IMA Lifetime Achievement Award

Hyderabad: Dr Duvvuru Dwarakanatha Reddy, an ENT specialist from Telangana has been conferred with the Indian Medical Association's 'Lifetime Achievement Award'. He is the first person from the State to receive this honour.

He was presented with the award at the 82nd annual meeting of the Central Council of IMA yesterday in Patna, Bihar.
Dr. Dwarakanatha Reddy practices in Hyderabad. He served as the Joint Secretary of IMA A.P. State Branch for 9 years. He was also associated with Association of Otolaryngologists of India (AOI) and he held the position of president of AOI AP State Branch for 1994-1995 session. He served as the president of IMA - Hyderabad North in 2007-2008.
He was Adjudged as the Best IMA - State Secretary in the Country for consecutive 4 years for all the four years in office as Secretary IMA., A.P. State. He was facilitated with Governer's Medal during Doctors Day Celebrations July 2003.
Sharing his thoughts with Medical Dialogues, he stated, " I have been working as a medical professional for the last 40 years. I started my career as a consultant ENT surgeon in Hyderabad's city hospital. During my initial years of working, I became associated with IMA on the national and state levels. Currently, I am working in Hyderabad." "IMA has always considered appreciating those who had some significant contribution towards the betterment of society. I am thankful to IMA for acknowledging my life long journey and honouring me with Lifetime Achievement Award", he added.
Giving his advice to the young doctors who will just start their new journeys, Dr. Reddy stated, " I think it is extremely important to be sincere in your work and to ensure ethical practice as a doctor. The financial benefit is obviously a driving force of any profession but I think when you are a doctor you have an obligation to work in a way that helps the distressed and the needy. As a doctor, one must strive to be a useful asset to society. I will advise the juniors to follow the instances of their seniors and work in harmony with their colleagues."
