Fake dentist practising without license arrested in Srinagar

Srinagar: A fake doctor was arrested in the Kanikadal area of old Srinagar city on Monday for running a fake dental clinic by allegedly practising without a valid license.       

A raid was carried out by a team led by SHO Shaheed Gunj Basharat Ali and Zonal Medical Officer Dr Shafkat in the presence of Tahsildar South Moeen Azhar Kakroo after receiving a tip-off. He failed to provide a licence or proper certificate supporting his practice when the police asked him to do so. They sealed the clinic in the presence of the magistrate and arrested the man.

During the raid, the man could not produce a license or proper certificate as proof of his medical practice. The clinic is located in a residential area at Kanikadal Srinagar.             

The police have registered a formal FIR vide number 50/2023 under section 420 against the accused, reports the Kashmir News Trust. The Tahsildar South Moeen Azhar Kakroo have further confirmed the arrest and said that the clinic has been sealed.                     

Meanwhile, the Medical Dialogues team had earlier reported about a land transfer approved by the Administrative Council (AC) under Lieutenant Governor Manoj Sinha to construct a 125-bedded hospital in Jammu and Kashmir's Budgam. The transferred land is worth 71 kanal which is located in the estate Reshipora, Budgam. It was transferred in favour of the Health and Medical Education Department for constructing a 125-bedded district hospital, stated a press release by the official spokesman. Lieutenant Governor Rajeev Rai Bhatnagar, Chief Secretary Arun Kumar Mehta, and Principal Secretary to LG Mandeep Kumar Bhandari attended the meeting.          

"The upcoming hospital, besides enhancing healthcare for the public in the area would also provide employment opportunities in different sectors to the skilled and medical practitioners," said an official spokesman.
