According to the complaint given to the police, she stated that after getting a super-seciality degree in anaesthesiology from Chicago, she began working with the hospital in 2020, and was working in the team of the accused nephrologist.
She said that the doctor started showing his interest towards her, and eventually began making obscene comments, following which she complained about it to the owner of the hospital.
She said, " The owner did not take any action and this emboldened the accused, who started sending obscene messages to me. He used to send invitation to join parties to celebrate the successes of transplants, but I never attended them. One day he sent me a message asking me to meet him in a hotel."
Following the incident, she complained to the owner about the same. However, she said, "The owner rebuked me and asked me not to share the incident with my acquaintances and hospital staff and shunted me out. They are now threatening to frame me in some cases."
The doctor further posted a video on social media asking women to not get duped by the nephrologist, demanding immediate action from the side of the police on her complaint.
The SHO of Talkatora, Rakesh Kumar told TOI the police have filed a case under sexual harassment, criminal intimidation and under the Information Technology Act. He said, "We are probing the case. Prima facie the allegations of the woman have been found true."
