Man attacks Doctor over Parking Dispute in Maharashtra, arrested

Thane: A man has been arrested for allegedly attacking a doctor with a sharp weapon over a dispute about vehicle parking in Maharashtra's Thane district, the officials stated.

The district rural police on Monday arrested the accused Bhau Murbade under section 324 (voluntarily causing hurt by dangerous weapons) and other relevant provisions of the Indian Penal Code, an official from Murbad police station said.

Dr. Dhiraj Srivastav had parked his two-wheeler in front of his clinic in Murbad on Monday morning, following which the accused picked a quarrel with him, he said.

Murbade attacked the doctor with a sickle, injuring him, the official said, adding that the victim was rushed to a nearby hospital, where he is undergoing treatment. The local police are conducting further probe in the matter, the official said.

Recently Medical Dialogues team had reported that a junior resident doctor at Rao Tula Ram (RTR) hospital was shot on the face inside the hospital premises as the miscreants escaped with the car on Monday. later, the resident doctors of the hospital staged a protest and boycotted duties demanding immediate action as the culprits were neither identified nor arrested even after two days. Following the incident, Dr. Rohan told Medical Dialogues that during the night duty, the doctor parked his recently purchased Verna car and went to have some tea at a vendor's stall just opposite the hospital. 

Describing further, when he approached his car, two men tried to forcibly enter the vehicle. In order to save himself, the doctor immediately reversed his car causing one of the men to fall, and then drove speedily to the hospital premises.
