Meerut Ayurveda doctor found dead at clinic, probe underway
Meerut: In a disturbing incident, a 26-year-old Ayurveda woman doctor was found dead inside her clinic in Pallavpuram Phase-2 on Sunday morning, with her family alleging that she was murdered. Police are investigating the circumstances surrounding the death and have not confirmed the allegations.
The doctor had been running a clinic at the Ayurveda and Natural Centre in Pallavpuram Phase-2 for around four months. She left her parental home for the clinic at around 6:15 am on Sunday. Clinic staff later found her body inside a room and informed her family, following which police reached the spot.
The family alleged that the doctor’s hands were tied when her body was found and raised questions over the circumstances of her death. However, police have not officially confirmed the claim.
According to a report by Live Hindustan, the doctor had married an Ayurvedic doctor in January 2026 after the family arranged the marriage through a matrimonial site. Her father said that disputes reportedly developed between the couple. He further alleged that his daughter had been subjected to dowry-related harassment and was murdered. Based on the family's complaint, police have registered a case.
The family further stated that following a physical altercation on the night of July 29, the deceased managed to escape from her in-laws' home and had been staying at her parents' home ever since.
Police have obtained CCTV footage from cameras installed outside the clinic and are examining it to determine who visited the premises after the doctor arrived and how long they remained there. Investigators are also questioning clinic staff and family members.
According to a report by Bhaskar English, forensic examination of the evidence found at the crime scene is being conducted. Police are currently investigating both murder and suicide. Police state that the actual cause of death will only become clear based on the post-mortem report, forensic examination, and evidence found at the crime scene.
The post-mortem report, forensic findings and other evidence from the scene will help establish the cause and circumstances of the death. Police are continuing their investigation.
