Paediatrician's house in Varanasi raided by ATS, IB in terror probe
Varanasi: A joint team of the Anti-Terrorism Squad (ATS) and the Intelligence Bureau (IB) on Tuesday conducted a raid at the residence of a paediatric specialist in the Adampur police station area of Varanasi in connection with the recent arrest of four terror suspects in Lucknow.
Security agencies arrived at the doctor’s house in the Omkareshwar neighbourhood and placed the entire family under house surveillance.
According to sources, the accused is believed to be linked to the recent arrest of four terror suspects in Lucknow.

The doctor and his wife reportedly operate a hospital within their two-storey residence. While the family resides on the first floor along with their teenage son, the ground floor houses a seven-room medical facility, news agency UNI reported.
Authorities sealed off the narrow lane leading to the house, allowing entry only to local residents.
Police personnel from Adampur police station have been deployed outside the premises to maintain security.
Senior police officials briefly visited the site but left shortly after, as central agencies have taken full control of the operation.
Local sources indicated that the raid is part of an ongoing investigation into suspected terror funding activities.
Officials are also examining electronic devices, including mobile phones and laptops, belonging to the doctor’s family.
The investigation is expected to continue for an extended period as agencies intensify questioning and scrutiny in the case.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the National Investigation Agency (NIA), investigating the car blast near Red Fort on November 10, recovered several important documents and materials during a major raid at the Lucknow residence of an arrested female doctor, allegedly one of the masterminds behind the blast, known as 'Madam Surgeon'. The search operation, carried out, lasted nearly five hours and involved a team of around six officers, including women personnel. Local police and the Central Reserve Police Force (CRPF) also provided support.
