Renowned Neurosurgeon Dr Satendra Desai Passes Away at 70

Panaji: In an unfortunate incident, Dr. Satendra Desai, a renowned Neurosurgeon, passed away at the age of 70 on Monday after suffering a massive heart attack.

Dr. Desai is survived by his wife, daughters, and his elder brother. His death has left a profound impact on the medical community, particularly in the field of neurosurgery.

According to The Goan Everyday, Dr Desai was the first neurosurgeon to graduate from Goa Medical College and had an extensive career, practising in countries such as Germany, Botswana, and the United States. He was also instrumental in the establishment of a neuro hospital in Delhi.

Dr. Desai had recently returned to Goa from Bengaluru on Sunday, after a brief period away. Upon his arrival, he began to feel unwell and was brought home in a wheelchair by his family. On the morning of Monday, as he prepared to visit a doctor for his health concerns, he suddenly experienced a massive heart attack. Despite efforts to save him, Dr. Desai tragically passed away.

Following his return to Goa, Dr. Desai resumed his practice in Margao, where he had set up a clinic with advanced medical facilities. Known for his precision and commitment, he treated complex neurological and spinal conditions with unmatched expertise.

His untimely passing has left his family, friends, and the countless patients whose lives he touched in deep sorrow.
