Satara doctor hangs self at hospital, Stress likely cause

Satara: In an unfortunate incident, a 50-year-old doctor cum owner of a private hospital in Karad taluka allegedly committed suicide by hanging himself from the ceiling in his hospital on Wednesday.  

Although the exact reason behind the doctor taking the extreme step is unknown, it is suspected that he ended his life due to frustration and stress. However, the reason for his distress is also unclear.

As per the latest Free Press Journal news report, the doctor was the owner of Relekar Aarogya Seva Hospital in Karad taluka. He was running the hospital along with his wife, also a doctor for many years. Apart from this, he was also a medical officer at a Government Rural Hospital in Dhebewadi, Patan.

He went to his hospital on Wednesday morning and was supposed to be back in the afternoon. However, his family became worried when he did not return home for a long time in the afternoon. When they reached the hospital, they saw the doctor hanging from the ceiling in a room. 

Following the incident, his family members informed the police. After receiving the information, the police rushed to the spot, conducted a preliminary examination and sent his body for autopsy. Later, the police handed over his body to the family members after the autopsy examination was completed.

An investigation is underway to determine the reason behind his death.
