Victoria Hospital doctor suspended for allegedly issuing Fake Medical Certificates

Bengaluru: Based on a news report on a TV channel, which showed a doctor allegedly selling fake medical certificates to people involved in criminal cases, the state medical education department has suspended the doctor for violating public trust and the standards expected of government employees.
The doctor, who worked as an emergency medical officer at Victoria Hospital, which is attached to the Bangalore Medical College and Research Institute (BMCRI).
According to the health officials, the doctor reportedly issued fake certificates that were used by individuals in legal cases to skip court appearances or get bail. It is unclear how long the illegal activity had been going on, but the matter came to light when a TV channel broadcast the incident with a video proof.
