Bihar: Four Health and Wellness Centres (Ayushman Arogya Mandirs) in Bihar have recently been awarded the prestigious National Quality Assurance Standards (NQAS) certification, marking a significant milestone in the state’s healthcare quality improvement efforts.

The NQAS certification, or National Quality Assurance Standards certification, is a program launched by the Indian government to improve the quality of healthcare services in public health facilities. It involves assessing facilities against a set of predefined standards to ensure they provide safe, patient-centric, and high-quality care. Certification is awarded to facilities that meet these standards, serving as recognition of their commitment to quality healthcare.

The centres include Chunapur HWC in Purnia district, Pariya HWC in Madhepura, Bishaspur HWC in Muzaffarpur, and Barauni Health and Wellness Centre in Begusarai.

The Health Department has set an ambitious target to certify all Health and Wellness Centres (HWCs) across the state under NQAS by the end of 2025. This development reaffirms Bihar’s commitment to enhancing healthcare quality at the grassroots level.
