AIIMS Staff Unions Demand Chief Security Officer's Removal over Misconduct Allegations
AIIMS Delhi
New Delhi: Growing discontent over worsening safety conditions and alleged abuse of authority at the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS) has led multiple staff unions to demand the immediate removal of the institute’s Chief Security Officer (CSO).
In a joint letter to the hospital administration, the AIIMS Nurses Union, Employees Union, and Officers Association have levelled serious allegations against the Chief Security Officer (CSO). They accused the officer of defying orders from senior officials, misusing security personnel for personal tasks, and fostering a hostile work environment. The unions further claim that the CSO routinely wears hidden cameras, intimidates families of staff residing on campus, and consistently fails to take decisive action in cases of violence against healthcare workers.

According to TNIE, “Despite repeated representations, the CSO’s conduct has continued to compromise the safety and integrity of the institution,” the unions wrote.
The unions highlighted multiple security lapses under the CSO’s watch, including incidents of assault on healthcare workers, which they say were not appropriately escalated—no FIRs were filed. Further, the officer is accused of wearing hidden surveillance equipment, including concealed cameras, without justification, raising concerns over privacy and trust among staff.
