The parents of the baby complained with the Kithor police station where Neenu Kumar, resident of Mahalwala village of Kithor police station area, said his wife Doli gave birth to their child at around 2.30 pm on Monday at LLR Medical college hospital and alleged that a stranger posing as an employee of the hospital befriended them and took away their child. They alerted the medical college administration after the man failed to return. The child's relative, Pramod, told DNA India, "Doctors advised us to immunize the infant. The man was roaming around, and we thought he was a hospital staff member. As I did not know from where the vaccine was to be administered, he went along with me." Pramod added that the man urged him to give the baby to him when Pramod went to look for the documents. However, the man and the child were both gone when Pramod came back.

PK Singh, SP city, said, "The incident came to light on Tuesday after a case was registered at the Medical College police station. A person impersonating a hospital staff came in and claimed to vaccinate the child. The man then disappeared from the hospital premises, along with the child. We have constituted a team, and the accused will be arrested soon. A case has been registered under charges of kidnapping at the Medical College police station. We are investigating the case by analyzing the footage of CCTV cameras."

The police said that a case had been registered against an unidentified person for kidnapping, and they were scanning the CCTV footage surrounding the area, as per a Times of India report.

The incident was caught on CCTV, and the clip was also shared on Twitter. After going through the footage, it was found that the accused was in his mid-30s to early-35s. The police have already begun an investigation, and they are trying to identify the suspect.
