Cuttack: The Odisha High Court has stepped in to monitor the delayed installation of critical diagnostic equipment at SCB Medical College and Hospital in Cuttack, following continued setbacks that have impacted patient care. The move follows repeated assurances from the Odisha State Medicine Corporation (OSMC) that two essential machines would be operational by the end of May.

According to Pragativadi, adding to the situation, the hospital is also preparing to introduce ECG machines for mental health treatment, though their installation is expected to be completed only by August. The delays have raised questions about the efficiency of medical infrastructure planning and execution in the state.
The High Court has set the next hearing on the matter for June 19, aiming to ensure accountability in the implementation of these vital medical devices.
