Puttur Medical College Project Gets Approval for 300-Bed Hospital
Patna: A 30-bed ENT indoor ward has been inaugurated at Patna Medical College Hospital (PMCH), providing modern and comfortable treatment for patients suffering from ear, nose, and throat ailments. The ward is part of the first phase of the hospital’s new world-class building project.
The facility was formally inaugurated on Tuesday by Dr. IS Thakur, Hospital Superintendent, and Dr. Anupama Singh, Head of the Department of Dermatology. On its very first day, more than seven patients were admitted.

The hospital has also been expanding other departments to enhance patient care. Recently, a 270-bed medicine ward and a 40-bed dermatology ward were inaugurated. A new parking area for 200 vehicles and a lecture hall for doctors from the Medicine, Gynaecology, and Paediatrics departments have also been completed.
All the new wards are fully air-conditioned and equipped with modern systems. Each bed features an alarm button, allowing nurses and doctors to respond immediately if a patient’s condition worsens. Dr. Thakur emphasised that this system will significantly enhance patient safety and help save lives.
Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the Ministry of Health and Family Welfare has appointed Padma Shri awardee Prof. Dr Radha Krishna Dhiman as the chairman of the All India Institute of Medical Sciences (AIIMS), AIIMS Patna. Dr Dhiman currently serves as the director of Sanjay Gandhi Postgraduate Institute of Medical Sciences (SGPGIMS), Lucknow and the Kalyan Singh Superspecialty Cancer Institute, Lucknow.
