Ranchi: 2,600-bed Super Speciality Hospital RIMS-2 set to boost Medical Tourism
RIMS-2 Hospital
Ranchi: The proposed 2,600-bed integrated super-speciality hospital, ‘RIMS-2’ (Rajendra Institute of Medical Sciences - 2), is being hailed as a transformative initiative that will place Ranchi on the global medical map and turn the state into a hub for advanced healthcare services and medical tourism.
Health Minister Dr. Irfan Ansari, who has been at the forefront of this initiative, confirmed that RIMS-2 will offer comprehensive multi-super speciality services under one roof, modelled after the prestigious Amrita Hospital in Faridabad. Dr. Ansari, along with Additional Chief Secretary of the Health Department, Ajay Kumar Singh, recently visited Amrita Hospital to study its operational, medical, and research frameworks in detail. Their learnings will guide the development of RIMS-2.
The 2,600-bed facility will offer comprehensive super-speciality services such as cardiology, oncology, neurosurgery, and orthopaedics. Additionally, a cutting-edge research centre and a telemedicine unit will be established. The campus will provide complete treatment and teaching facilities, all within a single, unified location.

We are bringing the dreams of the Chief Minister to the ground,” said the Health Minister, reports TNIE.
