Telangana Govt sanctions Rs 2,679 cr for 3 Super-Specialty hospitals
Hyderabad: The Telangana Government has sanctioned an amount of Rs 2,679 crore towards the construction of three super-specialty hospitals in and around Hyderabad.
The three hospitals coming up at LB Nagar, Sanathnagar, and Alwal, Medchal-Malkajgiri and will function as autonomous institutions and will be named Telangana Institute of Medical Sciences (TIMS), LB Nagar, TIMS, Sanathnagar, and TIMS, Alwal, Medchal-Malkajgiri.
Of the total sanctioned amount, the State government has allocated Rs 900 crore to construct TIMS, LB Nagar, Rs 882 crore for TIMS Sanathnagar, and Rs. 897 crore to construct TIMS Alwal, Medchal-Malkajgiri.

As per a recent media report in Deccan Chronicle, To release the pressure on Gandhi and Osmania hospitals, the government decided to construct these three hospitals in different areas in the city. For the construction of the hospitals, the government ordered R&B to call for tenders.
People traveling from the districts for treatment could benefit from the establishment of additional hospitals. Patients from the districts of Sangareddy, Siddipet, and Adilabad would benefit from the hospital at Alwal, and the patients from the districts of Khammam, Nalgonda, and Suryapet would benefit from the hospital at LB Nagar. People from the surrounding areas would benefit from the hospital at Sanathnagar.
