Viral video shows doctor administering injection under torchlight at Jalaun district hospital
Jalaun: A shocking video has gone viral on social media, allegedly showing a female doctor treating a patient in complete darkness with just a mobile phone torchlight at a district government hospital in Jalaun due to a power outage, raising serious concerns about patient safety and the grim condition of state hospitals.
In the 31-second clip, shared by a user on ‘X’ (formerly Twitter), a patient can be seen sitting on a bed with his bare arm exposed while the female doctor administers an injection. Beside them, a young man is holding up a mobile phone torchlight to assist her.

The incident has sparked widespread outrage, with people blaming the government for poor hospital management in the state. Many also questioned the functioning of the health department, pointing out that such negligence in a major district hospital could endanger patients’ lives.
While the state government has not issued a statement yet, the Chief Medical Officer of the hospital said that although the hospital has a generator, it was not used at the time due to a wire fault in the room’s power line. He added that continuous efforts are being made to upgrade facilities, and the technical team has been instructed to ensure such incidents are not repeated.
