LG Saxena approves regularisation of 112 doctors, non-medicos posts at Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital
New Delhi: Providing major relief to employees at a government hospital in the Capital, Delhi Lieutenant Governor VK Saxena has approved the conversion of 112 temporary medical and non-medical posts at Bhagwan Mahavir Hospital, Pitampura, into permanent positions.
This move came in development after Saxena promised to end Adhocism in government employment and provide better service conditions to Government employees after taking charge in May 2022.
As per an ANI report, these 112 Medical or non-medical temporary posts that include Specialists, Senior Resident Doctors, Junior Resident Doctors, Staff Nurses, Pharmacist, Lab Technician, Lab Assistants, Statistical Assistants, LDC, etc. will be converted into Permanent posts after approval of the Lieutenant Governor, in the process improving services at the Hospital.
Earlier in May, Saxena approved the promotions of 60 senior medical officers in the Delhi government-run hospitals to the post of chief medical officer which has been pending since 2018 as reported by the Medical Dialogues team.

In this case, the LG further directed these posts to be filled through Recruitment from UPSC or DSSSB on a permanent basis as per the Recruitment Rules in a time-bound manner, if required.
Right after taking charge in May 2022, LG Saxena issued strict directions to all Departments of GNCTD (Government of National Capital Territory of Delhi), to resolve pending issues of Government Employees' welfare like Promotions, Service Matters, Cadre Restructuring, Recruitment Rules as well as Direct Recruitments through DSSSB and UPSC in a time bound manner.
Recently, 48 Accounts Officers were promoted to the post of Senior Accounts Officer in the Finance Department of GNCTD after LG's approval.
In Education Department, 411 Vice-Principals have been promoted to Principals and 51 Principals promoted to DDE, in the last 2 years after approval of LG Saxena. Apart from promotion, Cadre Restructuring of DSS cadre of Delhi (previously DASS Cadre), was approved last year, after a wait of decades, on directions of LG. This step of cadre restructuring was a major step to end Adhocism in the Departments of GNCT of Delhi.
Saxena has also emphasized permanently filling up of vacant posts in Departments of GNCT of Delhi, through exams by DSSSB in a time-bound manner. As many as 25,000 posts have been filled during the last 2 years in various government departments. These posts include Teachers (PGT/TGT/Primary), Junior Assistants (LDC), Warden, MTS, Medical posts in Hospitals, etc.
