New Delhi: With the counselling process for DNB (Post MBBS) and DNB (Post Diploma), now finally on, the National Board of Examinations, the body in charge for conducting the counselling has now released a set of Frequently Asked Questions (FAQs) for DNB Post-MBBS & Post-Diploma Centralised Merit Based Online Counseling

Medical Dialogues had earlier reported that the registration process for the online counselling is currently ongoing and as per the seat matrix that was released on 8th May 2020, there are total of 4925 seats available

Q. How Can I appear for DNB (Post MBBS) / (Post Diploma) 2020 admission session counseling?

A. The candidates who wish to appear for online counseling have to register with NBE through the designated website (http://counseling.nbe.edu.in) and also have to fill the choice of preferences during the registration process. The process of registration is available in the Handbook for admission to Diplomate of National Board Post Graduate Courses (Post MBBS) and (Post Diploma) 2020 Admission Session. There is no other methodology for attending the counseling for DNB (Post MBBS) and DNB (Post Diploma) 2020 admission session. Only those candidates who participate in the First round of counseling shall be eligible for participation in any subsequent round of counseling. A candidate cannot seek to participate in any other round without having first participated in the First round of counseling.

Q. How can I know the counseling schedule?

A. The schedule of DNB (Post MBBS) / (Post Diploma) Centralized counseling is available on the NBE website.

Q. What is the prescribed fee for participation in Counseling?

A. Counseling fee of Rs. 2500/-(excluding payment gateway charges) is to be paid through the online payment gateway during the registration process for online counseling.

Q. How to use registration and Choice filling form on the website?

A. Candidates will have to log on to the website http://counseling.nbe.edu.in to get registered (Registration facility will open on dates as mentioned in the schedule) and then fill in choices. It is advised that after going through the seat matrix, a tentative list may be prepared first as per your preference of subjects and colleges, before attempting to fill choices on-line.

Q. Can I modify my choices during the choice submission period for counseling?

A. Yes, you can modify, add, or delete your choices during this period, before you lock your choices.

Q. Difficulty in login, what may be the problem(s)?

A. Please read HANDBOOK of the respective counseling. Follow the instructions about the use of browser (Mozilla Firefox, Internet Explorer - (Latest Version), Google Chrome), use of same spellings, the same format of the date (Use digits for day, month and year within between) as in application form submitted to National Board Examinations (NBE), New Delhi. The internet connection should be uninterrupted. If internet connection interruption takes place, the IP address which is being monitored will change and the session expired message will be displayed. Please try to login from another computer from which another candidate(s) has logged in successfully, if possible.

Q. Is registration fee/tuition fee refundable?

A. No, Fee once paid shall not be refunded in any circumstances.

Q. Will NBE bear the payment gateway charges that occurred during counseling registration/seat allotment?

A. No, Bank charges if any shall be borne by the candidate only.

Q. What is the eligibility for the candidates who have taken a seat in AIQ counselling?

A. Kindly note that once a candidate joins a seat allotted to him/her through 2nd ROUND of counseling in the NEET 50% AIQ /Deemed/Central universities/AFMS (MD/MS/Diploma) seats 2020 by Medical Counseling Committee(MCC), Government of India or State Counseling through respective State Government, he/she shall not be eligible to participate in any rounds of counselling for the DNB (Post MBBS) 2020 Admission Session as well as the DNB (Post Diploma) 2020 Admission Session.

Q. What are the instructions regarding SC, ST, OBC, PwD and EWS certificates?

A. Please read HANDBOOK for admission to Post-MBBS & Post-Diploma courses. The certificate requirements are mentioned in the handbook along with format. The certificate as mentioned in the prospectus only will be acceptable. Candidates are requested to read the handbook carefully for instructions regarding Caste and Persons with Disability (PwD) Certificate.

Q. Whether the certificate issued in the Regional Language (Other than English or Hindi) is acceptable?

A. No, all the certificates must be in HINDI or ENGLISH. In case if any of the certificate(s) is/are in the regional language, its Hindi/English version translated copy duly authenticated by a translator authorized in this regard by the State/Central Government will be required to be uploaded along with the original certificate that has been translated.

Q. How can I get information regarding my queries pertaining to counselling?

A. Please refer to Information Bulletin & Handbook for Admission to Diplomate of National Board Post Graduate Courses (Post MBBS)/ (Post Diploma) 2020 Admission Session. You can also e-mail your queries at counseling@natboard.edu.in. Queries pertaining to information already available on the NBE website/Handbook may not be entertained.

Q. How many options a candidate can select during the registration and choice filling process?

A. Registered candidates are allowed to select and arrange the choices of seats in the order of their preference. Candidate can select any number of choices of seats available for counseling.

Q. How can I claim the special category seats available in the seat matrix?

A. The special category candidates (other than SC, ST, and OBC) are allowed to select the special category during the registration process. Before selecting the special category in the registration process, candidates are advised to verify the special category seat availability in the particular institute where they are claiming the seat. Such candidates also required to upload their respective certificates during the registration process. The Certificates uploaded by the candidate during the registration process will be verified by NBE as well as the respective institute before Joining for the course. If the certificate(s) uploaded by the candidate found to be false/fake at any stage, their allotment, as well as their candidature, will be canceled.

Q. What will happen if I forget to lock my preferences before the last date of registration?

A. Candidates who have not confirmed their choices before the last date, the choices selected by them will automatically be confirmed and his/her application shall be processed accordingly.

Q. Whether I have to join the allotted institute after the First allotment?

A. No, the candidate allotted with a seat during the First round of counseling need not join the allotted institute.

Q. Is the tuition fee refundable in all the cases?

A. No, the fee will be forfeited if the candidate who has been allotted a seat in ONLINE Round or Final Round (Mop-up ) of NBE does not join the respective institute after opting to freeze the same. Also, the Tuition fee will be forfeited in case the candidate gives wrong information at the time of registration on the basis of which a seat may be allotted and later canceled by the Admission Authorities at the time of reporting or afterward.

Q. What if I miss the First round of counseling?

A. Candidates absent/not participating in the first round of online counseling shall not be eligible for participation in subsequent round(s) of counseling.

Q. How can I review the seat availability before filling my preference?

A. The Indicative seat matrix for DNB Broad Specialty including Direct 6 Years courses (Post MBBS) and (Post Diploma) are available on the NBE website.

Q. What if I am not allotted with a seat during the online counseling?

A. Candidate not allotted with a seat during the online counseling can appear the Final round of counseling (Mop-up) in the order of his/her merit and the available seats shall be allotted during this counseling.

Q. What is the eligibility to participate in the final round (Mop-up) counseling?

A. All the registered candidates who have not been allotted with any seat during the First, Second, and Third round of counseling will be considered for Final Round (Mop-up) of counseling.

Q. If there is a discrepancy in the spelling of the name in documents and application form, what do I do?

A. Your name appearing during the counseling registration process is the same which you have entered during the registration of the NEET-PG & DNB-PDCET 2020 exam. If there is a discrepancy in spelling in documents candidates must carry proof that the documents belong to the same person, in the form of an affidavit/undertaking.

Q. How can I download my allotment letter to join the allotted institute?

A. The allotment letter can be downloaded from the NBE website after the completion of the 2nd round of counseling. The candidate will be allowed to join in the allotted institute after completion of the 2nd Round of counseling and shall have to produce their Original Documents at the allotted institute.

Q. Is it necessary to produce the original documents at the time of Joining in the allotted institute?

A. Candidate has to produce all the prescribed documents 'IN ORIGINAL' at the time of joining the allotted institute. After verification of the Original Documents, the concerned hospital will upload Annex-A and compliance Certificate at www.counseling.nbe.edu.in that they have checked their original documents as per the criteria mentioned in the information bulletin. In addition, candidates are required to upload the scanned copies of the documents during the registration process.

Q. Am I eligible for DNB while pursuing any other PG Medical course?

A. Candidates already pursuing a DNB course or any other Postgraduate medical course are not eligible for admission to DNB (Post MBBS) 2020 Admission Session and the DNB (Post Diploma) 2020 Admission Session till such time as they complete the entire duration prescribed for the said course. Resignation or discontinuation from the said course due to any reason shall not make the candidate eligible for admission to the DNB (Post MBBS) 2020 Admission Session.

Q. Can I get my original certificates verified through an authorized representative?

A. Authorized representative on behalf of a candidate for certificate verification shall be permitted only in exceptional circumstances at the sole discretion of NBE. The authorized representative has to produce an affidavit in the prescribed format (Annexure – E1 & E2) during the certificate verification.

Q. Is it necessary to bring Identification proof?

A. Yes, Candidates are required to produce one of the following Govt. issued ID card in original at the time of certificate as well as at the time of joining in the allotted institute:

• PAN card

• Valid Indian Passport

• Voter ID card

• Driving License

• Aadhaar Card (with the photograph)

No other ID proof will be accepted. The scanned copy of the same should be uploaded on the website during the registration process.

Q. What if I am employed and wish to attend the counseling?

A. You can attend the counseling and opt for a seat also. However, if a candidate is employed or under any kind of bond, he/she has to furnish a 'No Objection Certificate or/and Relieving letter' issued by the competent authority of the concerned University /Employer before the last date for admission for the DNB (Post MBBS) 2020 Admission Session. The seat allotment letter to such candidates will be issued only after he/she submits the 'No Objection Certificate or/and Relieving letter' to the NBE.

Q. Can I change my DNB seat after allotment in counseling?

A. No, change of Institute/specialty/seat is not permitted.

Q. What will be the status of a DNB trainee, if the accreditation of the training Institute is withdrawn by NBE or closure of functioning of the Hospital/Institute due to any reason?

A. In the event of closure of training institute or withdrawal of accreditation by NBE, the ongoing DNB trainees of that institute shall be relocated to the vacant seats available in the other NBE accredited institutes, to complete their remaining period of DNB training.

Q. Can I participate in counseling for future sessions based on NEET-PG 2020/PDCET 2020 result?

A. No, the NEET-PG 2020/PDCET 2020 result and merit are valid for the current session (2020 admission session) only.

Q. Is registration for the DNB Course mandatory?

A. Yes, all candidates who have joined DNB training are required to get registered with NBE for the DNB course. A registration number is issued on receipt of the application form for registration and fulfillment of eligibility criteria for registration.

Q. How can I apply for registration with NBE after joining DNB training?

A. Candidates are required to submit the application form for registration only through online at www.cns.natboard.edu.in via Candidate Login within one month of joining DNB training in order to get registered by NBE for DNB course.

1. A registration fee of Rs 5000/-* (for 3 Years course) or Rs. 10,000/-* (for direct 6 Years course) for DNB (Post MBBS) and Rs. 3000/-*(for 2-year course) for DNB (Post Diploma) is to be deposited through online payment gateway only during the filling up Online Registration Form for registration with NBE. Fee deposited through challan/Pay-in-slip is not acceptable.

2. Contact details of the candidate as mentioned in the registration form shall be treated as final for further correspondence with the candidate.

3. Registration letters can be downloaded from NBE website once the candidate has been registered with NBE.

Sponsored Seat

Q. Who is Eligible for a sponsored seat?

A. The sponsored seat shall be allocated only to a sponsored candidate through merit-based OFFLINE (Mop-up) counseling. A sponsored candidate is a candidate who is working in a Government (state /central /autonomous /PSUs, etc.) organization on a regular basis

Q. Which document is necessary to participate in OFFLINE (Mop-up) counseling for sponsored seats?

A. No Objection Certificate required and other requirements/documents as per the terms and conditions of the organization where the candidate is employed as well as the documents mentioned under Chapter "Guidelines for sponsored seats" of the Handbook of Counseling.

Q. Who will pay the stipend to the sponsored candidate?

A. The stipend for the entire period of DNB/FNB training shall be borne by the sponsoring Government organization.
