NEET-SS is an eligibility-cum-ranking examination prescribed as the single entrance examination for admission to various DM/MCh courses as per the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Act, 2016. National Board of Examinations also utilizes the merit generated through NEET SS for admissions to its DNB Superspecialty courses.
The NEET SS is conducted by NBE as per the schedule of admissions notified in Post Graduate Medical Education Regulations (PGMER), 2000. No other entrance examination, either at the state or the Institution level, shall be valid for entry to DM/MCh courses as per the Indian Medical Council (Amendment) Act, 2016 w.e.f. 2017 admission session. Qualifying NEET-SS is mandatory for entry to DM/MCh courses under various Universities/ Institutions in the country.
Earlier, the NBE had released a corrigendum to the Information Bulletin for National Eligibility cum Entrance Test – Superspecialty NEET SS 2020 concerning the test's prior qualifications.

In pursuance to that only, this recent notice has been released by the Natboard, as mentioned by the NBE " Further to the NBE corrigendum dated 07-08-2020 which was released in line with the MCI Letter No 23(1)/2020-Med/113507 dated 07-08-2020, the revised prior entry qualifications for some of the Superspecialty courses were notified."
Adding to that, the NBE stated in the notice,
"It is reiterated in terms of the clause 12.5 of the Information Bulletin for NEET SS 2020 that the prior entry qualifications for DNB Super Specialty Courses will be the same as for the corresponding DM/MCh Courses and any change in the feeder entry qualifications for any DM/MCh Course(s) will be automatically applicable for the corresponding DNB Super Specialty Course(s)."
Therefore, the prior entry qualifications for following DNB Superspecialty courses as published under clause 12.2 of the information bulletin should be read as under:

Earlier, Medical Dialogues had also reported that with the norm of social distancing and "do gaj doori" in effect considering the ongoing Coronavirus pandemic, the National Board of Examinations (NBE) while conducting the NEET SS 2020, will be not doing any physical frisking including use of handheld metal detectors at the exam centres this year. Meanwhile, temperature checks will be in order at the centres to keep up with the prevention and safety norms during the exam day.
The NatBaord has declared that it will be conducting the Social Distanced - Computer Based Test (SD-CBT) in a safe and secure environment using touch free processes maintaining social distancing norms wherever needed. National Board of Examinations reserves its rights to review the test day processes of conduct of CBT in wake of the changing scenario of COVID-19 pandemic, it further stated.
The major changes concerning the exam day check for NEET SS this year include: Frisking (Body pat as well as HHMD) will not be done while social distancing is in effect and all candidates will be checked at the entry point for fever with the thermo guns. In case, any candidate is observed to be having above normal temperature (> 99.14 Degree F) or displaying any symptoms of COVID-19 infection, he/she will be allowed to take the examination in a separate isolation lab.
