Haryana: Offering a final opportunity to nearly 10,000 pharmacists to renew their registrations that expired in 2020 or earlier, the Haryana State Pharmacy Council has granted a three-month grace period.
The move is aimed at ensuring compliance with regulatory requirements while allowing pharmacists to continue their professional practice without disruption.
According to Council Chairman B.B. Singal, Haryana has around 70,000 registered pharmacists, of which nearly 10,000 have failed to renew their registrations since December 31, 2020.
Pharmacists have been directed to complete the renewal process by June 2026. Failure to do so within the stipulated timeline may result in their names being removed from the official Pharmacist Register.
The Council has further clarified that a late fee of Rs 500 per year will be imposed from July 1, 2026, calculated from the actual date of expiry of registration.
Additionally, the Executive Committee has stated that pharmacists who fail to renew their registration within five years of expiry may have their names struck off from the register. In such cases, renewal will only be permitted upon submission of a valid explanation, subject to review and approval by the Committee.
The Tribune reports that the Council has urged all eligible pharmacists to avail of this final window and complete the renewal process within the prescribed timeline to avoid regulatory action.
