Raid in Paschim Vihar: Counterfeit medicine racket busted
New Delhi: In a late-night bust, Delhi Police and the Drugs Control Department uncovered a counterfeit drug racket operating out of an apartment in the Paschim Vihar area.
Police sources said that the racket was involved in manufacturing and distribution of counterfeit medicines.
According to initial reports, fake drugs of several pharmaceutical companies were being stored in bulk and supplied to multiple states from a makeshift godown inside the residential premises, they said.
A large quantity of spurious medicines has been seized, they said, adding that further investigation is underway to trace the network involved, as per PTI.
Recently, 1970 bottles of Wincerex cough syrup and Eskuf cough syrup along with 1000 Nitrosun Tablets, were recovered in a raid in the Bisipada area, Three individuals were also arrested in this connection.
