Drug Inspector Recruitment 2026: UPPSC Opens 26 Group-B Gazetted Posts in Uttar Pradesh

Lucknow: The Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission (UPPSC) has issued a notification inviting applications for the recruitment of Drug Inspectors for the year 2026, opening up opportunities for qualified pharmacy and medical professionals to enter the state drug regulatory framework.

As announced by the Uttar Pradesh Public Service Commission, a total of 26 Group-B Gazetted vacancies have been sanctioned for the post of Inspector of Drugs under the Food Safety and Drug Administration, Uttar Pradesh. The online application process began on December 22, 2025, and eligible candidates can submit their applications until January 22, 2026, after completing the mandatory One Time Registration (OTR).

Applicants must hold a degree in Pharmacy or Pharmaceutical Sciences, or a medical degree with specialisation in Clinical Pharmacology or Microbiology, from a recognised institution. In addition to educational qualifications, candidates are required to meet specific experience criteria related to drugs covered under Schedule ‘C’ of the Drugs and Cosmetics Rules, 1945. This includes 18 months of experience in the manufacture or testing of Schedule ‘C’ drugs in an approved laboratory, or three years of experience in inspecting Schedule ‘C’ drug manufacturing units under a state or central government authority.

The prescribed age limit is 21 to 40 years, with applicable relaxations for candidates belonging to reserved categories as per government rules. Selected candidates will be appointed under Pay Level-8, drawing a salary in the range of ₹47,600 to ₹1,51,100, along with other allowances admissible under the 7th Central Pay Commission.

As per details available on PW Live, the notification also outlines category-wise vacancy distribution, reservation norms, application fee requirements, and procedures related to document verification. Candidates have been advised to carefully go through all instructions and eligibility conditions before submitting their applications to avoid rejection at any stage of the recruitment process.
