Odisha Government Plans Direct Recruitment for 1,108 Pharmacy Officer Posts

Bhubaneswar: The Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) is expected to release the OSSSC Pharmacy Officer Recruitment 2026 notification for 1,108 Pharmacy Officer (Group-C, District Cadre) vacancies under the Health & Family Welfare Department, Government of Odisha.

Eligible candidates will be able to apply online through the official OSSSC portal once the notification is released. The recruitment notification is expected to contain details regarding vacancies, eligibility criteria, age limit, selection process, salary, application dates and other important instructions.

According to the latest official communication, the Odisha Government has proposed filling 1,108 Pharmacy Officer vacancies through direct recruitment. Candidates possessing a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) and registered with the Odisha Pharmacy Council will be eligible to apply. Out of the total vacancies, 44 posts have been reserved for Persons with Disabilities (PwD).

The recruitment will be conducted by the Odisha Sub-Ordinate Staff Selection Commission (OSSSC) for the Health & Family Welfare Department. The selected candidates will be appointed as Pharmacy Officers/Pharmacists (Group-C, District Cadre). The recruitment process will comprise a written examination followed by document verification. Selected candidates will receive a salary in Level-7 of the Odisha Pay Matrix, ranging from ₹25,500 to ₹81,100, along with applicable allowances.

To be eligible for the recruitment, candidates must have passed the 10+2 Science examination or an equivalent qualification. Applicants should possess a Diploma in Pharmacy (D.Pharm) or Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharm) from a recognised institution and must be registered with the Odisha Pharmacy Council. The prescribed age limit for applicants is 21 to 38 years.

The recruitment also includes reservations for candidates belonging to PwD categories, including Deaf (D), Hard of Hearing (HH), One Leg (OL), Both Legs (BL), Cerebral Palsy (CP), Leprosy Cured (LC), Dwarfism (Dw), Acid Attack Victims (AAV), Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), Specific Learning Disability (SLD), Mental Illness (MI) and Multiple Disabilities (MD). The functional requirements prescribed for these categories include abilities related to sitting, standing, walking, bending, lifting, communication, reading, writing and hearing, as notified by the government.

The online application process will begin after the detailed notification is issued. Candidates will be required to register through the official OSSSC website, complete the online application form, upload the prescribed documents, pay the application fee, if applicable, review the details carefully and submit the application.
