Mumbai: The Maharashtra State Common Entrance Test (CET) Cell has reported that 29,040 students have secured admission to first-year Bachelor of Pharmacy (B.Pharmacy) and Doctor of Pharmacy (Pharm.D.) programmes for the 2026-27 academic year following the completion of four rounds of the Centralised Admission Process (CAP). However, 14,877 seats remain vacant across pharmacy colleges in the state and are being filled through the institutional-level admission process, which concludes on October 29, 2026.

According to the official press release issued on October 28, 2026, the institutional round began on October 25 and provides an opportunity for eligible candidates to seek admission against the vacant seats remaining after the four CAP rounds. The available vacancies exclude additional seats under the Economically Weaker Section (EWS) and Tuition Fee Waiver Scheme (TFWS) categories.

The admission process covers the four-year, full-time B.Pharmacy degree and the six-year, full-time Pharm.D. programme offered across 528 pharmacy colleges in Maharashtra. A total of 47,192 seats were available for these programmes during the 2026-27 admission cycle.

The CET Cell reported that the first CAP round recorded the highest number of admissions, with 16,734 students securing seats. In the second round, 7,432 students were admitted, followed by 2,960 admissions in the third round and 1,914 in the fourth round. Collectively, the four rounds accounted for 29,040 admissions across the state.

With the completion of the centralised admission process, colleges are conducting institutional-level admissions to fill the remaining 14,877 vacant seats. The CET Cell has also identified 1,990 seats under the management quota as available for admission through this round. October 29, 2026, has been specified as the final date for completing institutional-level admissions.

The CET Cell has clarified that an additional 3,275 seats are excluded from the institutional admission process. These include 2,866 seats under the EWS category and 409 seats under the TFWS category. These additional seats are allocated and filled during the Centralised Admission Process rounds and are therefore accounted for separately from the vacancies available at the institutional level.

The announcement was issued through the Maharashtra CET Cell’s public relations office in Mumbai, confirming the completion of four CAP rounds and the deadline for institutional-level admissions to B.Pharmacy and Pharm.D. programmes for the 2026-27 academic year, reports The Times of India.

The institutional round provides the final opportunity for eligible candidates to secure admission against the remaining vacancies in Maharashtra’s pharmacy colleges for the current academic session.
