'Corona Warrior' status to Late Dr Javed Ali who succumbed to COVID; Rs 1 crore compensation to kin
New Delhi - The Delhi government has decided to accord the ''Corona Warrior'' status to the late Dr Javed Ali, a National Health Mission (NHM) doctor who succumbed to COVID-19, and grant his family Rs 1 crore compensation. This was recently announced by the Delhi Health Minister Satyendar Jain.
Dr Javed Ali, 42, had contracted the infection in the line of duty and died on Tuesday. Medical Dialogues had reported about the unfortunate incident. He contracted COVID in June while performing his duties in a coronavirus facility. He was fighting it for the last month until he breathed his last at 8:40 a.m. on Monday at AIIMS trauma centre.
With the tragic incident, the contractual doctors started questioning the government about the responsibility for the death of COVID warriors who are serving government facilities on contract basis and are having no commitment from the government on financial assistance to their families.
