Posing as gangster, Delhi man, nephew attempt to extort doctor, held

Delhi: A doctor recently received an extortion call from an uncle-nephew duo posing as gangster and threatening the medical practitioner to pay Rs 5 lakhs.
The accused have been identified as a resident of New Delhi and his accomplice, a resident of Jagraon. They were nabbed by the police near a sugar mill where they came to collect the money. The doctor had received extortion calls on July 28 and August 5. He filed a complaint with the Jagraon City police.
As per a recent media report by Hindustan Times, the accused first called the doctor and introduced himself as a gangster. He also claimed that he was calling from jail. The caller threatened the doctor and asked him to deliver Rs 5 lakhs in cash. The doctor again received the second call on August 5th and the caller instructed him to hand over the cash to his aids at different spots.
