Goa: Health Minister Rane asks NBE to set up NEET exam centre in State
Panaji: In a bid to curb the risk of exposure to coronavirus and taking into account the inability to travel amid the COVID-19 pandemic, Goa Health Minister, Viswajit Rane recently asked the National Board of Examination (NBE) to arrange examination center inside Goa for the NEET (National Eligibility Cum Entrance Test) examination.
According to a recent media report, the Health Minister of Goa taking stock of the current pandemic scenario and the problems of transportation approached the NBE executive director Prof. Dr Pawanindra Lal and requested him to arrange a center for the NEET examination inside Goa so that the students will not have to travel outside the state during the pandemic.
For instance, the NEET examination is the all India entrance test for admission to medical, dental, and Ayush courses in India. It is scheduled to be held on the 13th of September. The examination is conducted by NTA (National testing agency) and the students have to appear for three-hour-long paper.
However, in the current scenario of the pandemic, when there are multiple containment zones, traveling outside the state is risky, hence the aggravated students approached the health minister requesting him to take necessary steps to resolve the problem.
