Super speciality block of Goa Medical College Hospital to be commissioned in June
The state government wants to create a 'good model' of the hospital through the super speciality block, Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane said.
Panaji: Goa Health Minister Vishwajit Rane has announced that the super specialty block at Goa Medical College and Hospital, which is constructed under a Central scheme, will be commissioned in June.
Speaking to reporters on Monday, Rane said the state government super-specialty is in the process of appointing a consultant for the super speciality block, which has been constructed under Pradhan Mantri Swasthya Suraksha Yojana (PMSSY).

The state government wants to create a 'good model' of the hospital through the super speciality block, the minister said.
'Once this block is commissioned, no one will have to go to other states for treatment,' he said, adding that the treatment in the new facility will be 'free of cost'.
The hospital will be linked to the state government's Deen Dayal Swasthya Seva Yojana (DDSSY), a medical insurance scheme covering the entire Goan population, Rane said.
The Rs 350-crore project will have more than 400 beds, it was stated.
