FIR lodged against doctor for not paying rent of hospital amounting to Rs 55 lakh

Ahmedabad: An FIR has been lodged by the landlord against a doctor who rented a building and later opened a hospital, on grounds of not paying the rent amounting to Rs 55 lakh. A case of breach of trust and cheating has been registered by Maninagar police and the police have already begun an investigation.
The complainant stated in his FIR that the doctor had rented two shops measuring 4,200 square meters near Aavkar Hall to establish a hospital. The hospital was opened by five persons in partnership in 2015, reports Times of India.
In the rental agreement, it was clearly mentioned that the monthly rent would be Rs.s 1.71 lakh. It was further added that there should be a 10% increase in the amount of rent each year. All the five people involved in establishing the hospital agreed on the terms and signed the agreement with the complainant. The hospital at the time of its establishment was named Aavkar Multi-Specialty Hospital and this name was only mentioned in the agreement.
